I love you Arnold Palmer (the beverage).

Dear AriZona Beverage Co.,

Thank you very much for making a delicious Arnold Palmer. Not only a delicious Arnold Palmer, but the most delicious Arnold Palmer that I have ever tried. Furthermore, not only is it super tasty, it is hella cheap - which is always a plus. I also highly enjoy your other half iced tea-half juice beverages, such as the Half Iced Tea & Half Tropical and the Half Iced Tea & Half Mango, as well as your Blueberry White Tea. But Arnold Palmer holds a truly special place in my tummy bladder heart.

I also enjoy how, in the image you chose to emblazon across the front of your cans of this beverage, Arnold Palmer looks rather like George Bush when he makes that one face where he seems kind of confused, or is perhaps displaying a look of consternation. Because that face is silly and makes me giggle.

Anyways, thank you once again for making cheap but tasty-ass drinks that are available not only in my current area of residence, but also in my future area of residence. I hope you continue doing so forever and ever, or at least until I die.

Love,

Kaori <3

Hark! A Vagrant is bomb.

I really like Hark! A Vagrant. What the hell is that, you might say. Well, it is a comic by the brilliant Kate Beaton on a range of topics: most notably, history and literature, but also occasionally American comics, pop culture, and Canada, among others. (P.S. Beaton is Canadian...which is why some comics are about Canada. It all makes sense now) Basically, her comic is hilarious and awesome and you should go read it right now.

One thing that is very interesting about her comics, and which make them much more entertaining and rewarding to read, is that they are oftentimes like little inside jokes. You have to be familiar with the background and characters/figures involved, whether literary, historical, or otherwise, in order to really, fully appreciate the hilarity of the comics. Also, because of the background knowledge needed to get the full comic experience, the comics seem....I don't know, more intelligent? Which is nice. The jokes are still ridiculous though. All in all, I'd say it's a good mix of highbrow and lowbrow. Oh, also! While her art is stylized for a comic genre, Beaton is clearly very skilled, as evidenced by the really accurate drawings of famous people/characters/historical figures.

Anywhoo, here are some of my favorite comics - with links back to the original post which may or may not contain more comics on the same topic! There are a ton because I like Hark! A Vagrant so much that it's hard to pick just a few. I also tried to include comics on an array of topics, as well as not include ones that were too obscure (because some of the history ones can be pretty obscure, though still awesome). OH AND ALSO making the comics big enough to read as is messed up the formatting, so BE SUUURE to click on them to enlarge. Enjoy!

The best.

The following multi-pane: is it super bomb-tacular or amazingly bomb-tacular? Correct answer: BOTH.

Note: To fully appreciate the awesomeness of this particular multi-pane, you must a) be familiar with this meme, b) have seen Inception (WHICH YOU BETTER HAVE BY NOW), and c) understand how hilarious Deecaps can be sometimes. That face, LOL.

Oh, this one is also pretty good.

I saw The King's Speech yesterday.

It was much more interesting/awesome than I thought it would be! Case in point: unexpected hilarity, especially during the speech therapy sessions.

And of course, this infamous scene:

AND.....tits.

How is this even possible. How can there be things that are this profoundly adorable. Are these really actual things that exist? Is this real life??

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

SMBC is a pretty awesome online comic. I've known about it for a long time, but I didn't actually go through and read the comics beyond a slight skimming until recently, when a friend posted some excellent ones on Facebook. I especially like the science/engineering related comics. Duh. Here are a few choice favorites.

Lol, homohms.

Hahaha, this next one is my favorite. So true.

So go read it. BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING AWESOME.
